Music in FBX

I'll be hitting UAF this August for college and, hopefully, finishing out my life in Alaska (minus the odd tour here and there). I'm leaving South Carolina, to get out to Alaska. Yes, I am potentially insane.

I'm currently on tour for the summer with my music project, fire island, AK (www.myspace.com/fireislandak), and I also just recently founded a CD-R label & distro (www.btnr.tk).

However, aside from Clucking Blossom, how is the "scene" in Fairbanks? I'm nervous about moving somewhere that may not be conducive to doing shows and having concerts. I know that Fairbanks is out of the way as far as most touring bands go, but is there some sort of a vibrant music community?

What is this "scene" you speak of?

    ;)

Fairbanks has plenty of music and plenty of venues, if you put yourself out there. It all sort of depends on what you want to be doing - need paid gigs? Might not happen as much. Need people to make music with? You'll find a number. Need experimental venues and collaborative projects? You can probably find a partner or ten in crime.

I suggest that you go to fbxshows.com and talk to some of the folks there. You'll probably find out what you want to know.
