hello!

My name is Joyce and my hubby and I are planning on moving to Fairbanks this year. We plan to visit the first week of April, and then hopefullly be there between June and August. We are both computer professionals, and have been watching for jobs at the university for the couple of years so we think that should not be an issue.

We will be looking for housing, and I have animals, all indoor, but some are quite heat sensitive (snakes and a lizard - my little herp haven room doubles as my office). Does anyone here have any advice about what we should look for in our first rental? I imagine we need a generator just for the herp room, in case of power failure, but am not sure what else we should look into.

Any suggestions for this cheechako?? (been reading my "Broken Toe Guide Guide to the Real Alaska"!)
